4th PIAZZA D’ ORO BARISTA COMPETITION GRAND FINAL 2019

Coffee Care Ltd, a leading coffee maker within the food industry, successfully held the 2nd Piazza D'Oro Barista Competition Grand Final on February 21, 2019 at  Four Seasons Limassol.
The purpose of the competition - which has now been established as an institution - was to highlight the expertise of Coffee Care's Baristas to customers, and to share some of their secrets, as well as the exchange of opinions and ideas regarding espresso coffee on the market. The competition was watched by 230 people.

After a long pre-selection and semi-final process at the Coffee Care Training Center, six experienced Baristi took part in the final:

  • Orestis Aresti (Coffee & More) The Mall of Cyprus Lefkosia 
  • Chara Makriyianni Rikano Cafe Pafos 
  • Rafaella Constantinou Paleto Cafe Liopetri 
  • Mary Klatsia Μαρία Casa Pietra Avgorou
  • Nikolas Taliotis Coffee Pause Pafos
  • Eleni Mitsou Grosseto cafe  Sotera Ammochostos

The members of the jury were Mr. Raymond Bus (Trade & Sales Support Manager της Jacobs Douwe Egberts), Mr. Tasos Kodellas Authorised SCA trainer From Thessaloniki  and Mr. Aris Christoforou (Roaster and Barista Trainer).
The big winner was Mrs. Maria Klatsia , who won a trip to the Jacobs Douwe Egberts plant in the Netherlands, second place was taken by Rafaella Constantinou, who won a home machine and an Ascaso-Dream mill and the third place was captured by Orestis Aresti Which won a full set of Barista equipment.
The next (third) Piazza D'Oro Barista Competition Grand Final will be held in free Pafos in early 2020 and the aim of Coffee Care is this initiative to help professionals offer the best cup of coffee to the general public!
