Coffee Care Ltd, a leading coffee maker within the food industry, successfully held the 5th Coffee Care Barista Competition Grand Final on February 13, 2020 at Leonardo Cypria Maris Hotel & Spa.
The purpose of the competition - which has now been established as an institution - was to highlight the expertise of Coffee Care's Baristas to customers, and to share some of their secrets, as well as the exchange of opinions and ideas regarding espresso coffee on the market. The competition was watched by 200 people.
After a long pre-selection and semi-final process at the Coffee Care Training Center, six experienced Baristi took part in the final:
- George Kokozides Alexander the Great Hotel in Pafos
- Georgia Panayi Atlantis College in Liopetri
- Orestis Aresti (Coffee & More) The Mall of Cyprus Lefkosia
- Dimitris Koumi Caffe Grosseto Sotera Ammochostos
- Dimitra Konstanti Point Kiosk Faneromenis Larnaca
- Aris Gkikas The Royal Apollonia Beach Hotel in Limassol
The members of the jury were Mr. Roland Brouwer Global Coffee Expert Professional Master Blender της Jacobs Douwe Egberts from Netherlands , Mr. Christos Dimopoulos MEVGAL SPECIALIST Ambassador and Latte Art Expert from Thessaloniki , and Mr Aris Christoforou Coffee Roaster, Barista.
The big winner was Mr. Orestis Aresti , who won a trip to the Jacobs Douwe Egberts plant in the Netherlands, second place was taken by Aris Gkikas, who won a home machine Tray Lor, and the third place was captured by George Kokozides Which won a full set of Barista equipment.
The next Coffee Care Barista Competition Grand final will be held in Ammochostos in early 2021 and the aim of Coffee Care is this initiative to help professionals offer the best cup of coffee to the general public!
